It is with great sorrow that we report the tragic passing of Sotir Markoff, a cherished resident of Buckeystown, Maryland, following a devastating car accident. Known for his vibrant spirit and kind-hearted nature, the loss of Sotir has left a deep void in the group.
The Unfortunate Incident
On October 18th at approximately 1:36 p.m., Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) deputies spoke back to a two-vehicle collision on the intersection of Buckeystown Pike (Route 85) and Executive Way. The crash resulted in one fatality and someone else severely injured.

Sotir Markoff, elderly 20, used to be transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) body of workers to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The occupants of the second one vehicle were taken to Frederick Health Hospital with non-life-threatening accidents, though one passenger was later transferred to a trauma middle because of serious damage.
The preliminary investigation states that one automobile was heading northbound on Buckeystown Pike and attempted to show left onto Executive Way while the other automobile was once heading southbound on the similar road. The automobiles collided at the intersection.
A Community in Mourning
This tragic incident marks the second one fatal crash in the neighborhood inside the remaining two weeks.
